I really enjoyed this story. I was a little skeptical in the beginning because the heronine is only 19 and that seems young to me, but I totally forgot about that when Cade came into the picture. Mischief, Mongrels and Mayham put a new twist on shifter books, following Missy, a college student, who believes she is the only one who turns into a large cat. Unbeknownst to her, she is living in a college town full of mongrels and other shape-shifters. When Cade, a mountain lion shifter, comes to town to stake a territory claim, Missy life gets turned upside down. This was a fun and sexy read that I would recommend to shape-shifter fans.
I really enjoyed this book and hope, hope, hope the author plans to write another story. This is a short story about growing up and learning to find yourself and love yourself. It's also a story about the reality that, though sometimes it takes a few tries we can all find people who accept us for who we are.
I really enjoyed this story, I just wanted it to continue, I hoped it was
longer. I thought the characters were great. Missy is a tough, sweet, kind
hearted Mongrel. Cade is a ass sometimes but he's sexy, sweet, protective and a
alpha. Super hot! Love these two together feisty, argumentative and sexy as
hell. Great twist on a shifter story, interesting secondary characters
especially the Kodiak..lol..the story flowed nice and I'm looking forward to the
next in this series, and the other characters to meet. I thought this author
wrote a interesting story with some mystery and interesting happenings. 4 stars

I was instantly drawn in by this incredible short story by Heather Long. This is a paranormal romance that left me completely satisfied. The story itself is well written, the romance crackles, and the passion is strong and runs HOT. The characters are fun, sexy, interesting, and just incredible to read about. If your looking for a book with sexy Shifters, shy yet sassy mongrels, and a place where EVERYONE can come and be safe and get along, then Mischief, Mongrels, and Mayhem is the perfect paranormal romance for you! I can't wait to read the next story and recommend this to those that love a good romance with sexy Shifters.
This is the first in a new series by Decadent Publishing. Like its 1 Night Stand series it will be written by different authors and each will be stand alone with some common elements. I was lucky enough to get an early copy of the first book Mischief, Mongrels and Mayhem (ROAR #1) by one of my favorite authors Heather Long.
First off I have to say I loved the name of our heroine liger shifter Mischief Jones. Missy is strong, smart and has earned the right to be comfortable in her own skin even if she is only 19. She is attending college a place for learning and new experiences and boy howdy when the new TA in her history class shows up she is in for a whole new type of education.
I enjoyed this story a lot. I think it probably suffered a little by size limitations imposed by the Decadent format a problem I had with the 1NS series as well. But with my love of shifters and the quality of the authors participating in this series - Sorority Wolf by Rebecca Royce (ROAR #2), Phoenix Rising by Cara Carnes (ROAR #3), Imperfect Mate by Lia Davis (ROAR #4), Shifted Plans by Brandy Walker (ROAR #5), A Woman’s Roar by Virginia Cavanaugh (ROAR #6) I think I will be checking out these and future titles.
